Artist's Description
George Washington was many things to America besides one of the Founding Fathers and the first President of the United States. Washington was the Commander and Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and presided over the convention that drafted the United States Constitution. While we take The Constitution for granted today, in Washington's time, this was a bold and radical concept, which makes the quote, "The Constitution is the guide which I will never abandon." all the more important to remember.
